To compare files in FileZilla, you can use the Directory Comparison feature:
- Select View > Directory Comparison
- Choose Compare file size or Compare modification time
- Enable the Hide identical files option to only see files with differences
Here’s what the color-coded differences mean:
- Green: The most recent version of the file
- Yellow: Files that only exist on one side
- Red: Files that are a different size on both sides
You can also use synchronized browsing mode if you frequently connect to systems with the same content on both the local and remote sides. Click on View > Synchronized browsing.
In the main menu, click on View > Directory comparison > Enable. Choose whether to compare based on file size or date by clicking on View > Directory comparison > Compare filesize or View > Directory comparison > Compare modification time.
